SOURCES ABOUT NORTH KOREA (I)

DOMESTIC POLITICS

This article, published by the Council on Foreign Relations, the author analyzes what would happen if North and South Korea were unified again, and explains the main advantages and drawbacks of the reunification.

In this blog, updatings about the internal political situation in North Korea are regularly published. The articles are usually about its relation with South Korea, the Human Rights and the internal conflict that still lasts in this country.

This site gives some general information about the Political System in North Korea, more particularly about the main tasks and goals of the State and also about its State Organs.

FOREIGN POLICY

To start with, this paper gives a general view of the relations that North Korea has with other foreign countries, focusing on the most relevant ones and analyzing how these relations have evolved during the last few years and how the situation is nowadays.

Zeller, Tom. (2006). The Internet Black Hole That Is North Korea. The New York Times. October 23, 2006.

This journal article published by the New York Times nearly eight years ago analyzes a problem that still exists in the country nowadays: the lack of information in the media about some internal aspects of North Korea.

Jong-Han Yoon. (2011).The Effect of US Foreign Policy on the Relationship Between South and NorthKorea: Time Series Analysis of the Post-Cold War Era. Journal of East Asian Studies. May-Aug2011, Vol. 11 Issue 2, p255-287.
In the given pages of this magazine, the History of North Korea during the past few decades is being analyzed. The author talks about the conflict between North and South Korea, focusing on how foreign countries, specially the US, have always affected the relation between both Koreas.

Again, a document about the relations between North Korea and the US. But in this case, the main point is the present conflict that the nuclear strategy of North Korea is causing between this country and the US. The US, reluctant to accept this strategy, is trying to affect the commercial relations between North Korea and some other countries.
